Here’s what step we will take together on your surrogacy journey with WCOB:

1. We will meet with you for an initial consultation to discuss your needs, preferences, and any medical history that might impact the process. We will also ask you about your surrogacy dreams, goals, and fears. We’ve developed the initial consultation to get to know you and your story and to work on our mutual plan to achieve your goal. 2. Immediately after the initial consultation, we will find you a surrogate fitting your criteria. Our matching process is designed to find the best compatible option for you. It’s important for us that you feel comfortable verbalizing your preferences and concerns about your future surrogate.

3. After you are matched with the compatible surrogate, both you and the surrogate will undergo thorough medical tests to ensure you are free from infectious diseases, genetic disorders, and other health issues affecting the pregnancy or the baby.
   
   Meanwhile, our legal team will work on a legal contract outlining the rights, responsibilities, expectations, and compensation of the surrogacy arrangement.

4. The next step is when we start working on embryo transfer, pregnancy, and childbirth. You or, if needed, our donors will provide genetic material through in-vitro fertilization (IVF). Skilled embryologists will carefully fertilize the eggs with sperm, creating embryos with the potential to develop into healthy babies. The resulting embryo(s) is/are then transferred to your surrogate's uterus, marking the start of the pregnancy.
   
   Throughout this critical phase, we provide regular monitoring and medical care to maximize the chances of a successful pregnancy.

Surrogacy Pros and Cons

Before embarking on the surrogacy journey, it’s worth considering all the pros and cons. You can expect the following advantages from surrogacy with WCOB:

1. A child born through surrogacy will be genetically related to you and/or your partner. In the case of gestational surrogacy, the intended parents’ eggs and sperm are used to create embryos. As a result, a surrogate acts as a carrier of the child and is not genetically related to them in any way. Sometimes, the genetic material from one of the intended parents is combined with the donor’s material. In this case, the child will be related to one of the parents.
2. You can choose the gender, plus the eyes and hair color of your future child. We offer an opportunity to select the gender of your future child. New technologies are also being introduced that allow you to choose the color of your future child's eyes and hair.
3. You can choose to have twins or triplets. The surrogacy process allows intended parents to plan a twin or triplet pregnancy. Interested in how it’s done? More here.
4. You can actively participate in pregnancy. Intended parents can experience their baby's development by sharing the pregnancy process with their surrogate and participating in the milestones.
5. You can be sure that you will have a baby. Even if the process takes longer than expected, surrogacy can guarantee that the intended parents will have a baby. If one surrogate match or embryo transfer is unsuccessful, more surrogate options and attempts are always available.

Despite the above advantages, it is important to be aware of the common challenges of surrogacy as well.

1. Surrogacy is expensive. Medical expenses, legal fees, and surrogate compensation usually add up significantly. Check out prices here.
2. Surrogacy is not legal in every country. Most countries ban it completely. However, there are just a few surrogacy-friendly countries that make the process legally convenient for intended parents, and we work in those locations.
3. Surrogacy is an emotionally demanding process. It takes time and effort, and intended parents may encounter difficulties and setbacks. The WCOB team understands all these emotions and challenges. That’s why we will be there for you every step of the way.
